Yes.  Celiac Disease causes many different problems for people.  You can get easy testing done through www.enterolab.com  They also offer the genetic testing which can be quite helpful - especially if your grandson has been on a GF diet for a while.  There are people who can have seizures with even the smallest exposure to gluten.  It is worth getting this checked out.  And - since most physicians know almost nothing about CD and still think it manifests only as digestive symptoms, do your own homework.

Gluten is a kind of protein that is formed from Gliadin and Glutenin. It is found in wheat, barley and rye etc. Seizures or Epilepsy can be caused by wheat Gluten. This is called Celiac disease. People who are sensitive to Gluten often suffer from this disease. So there is a possibility that you grandson is suffering from Celiac disease. You can test it by providing him with Gluten free diet.
