Can You Substitute Self Raising Flour For Plain Flour For A White Sauce?

I don't think that's a good idea. Self-rising flour has baking soda in it (I think) that causes it to roam and rise more than plain white flour. I don't think it would work very well. You could try it, but you'd have to stir like crazy to keep it from bubbling up.
