Both joule and calorie are the most common units used for the measurement of heat. Other than these there is the British Thermal Unit. Joule is the smaller unit where as calorie is the larger measurement unit and consists of 4.18 joules. To find the number of joules in 148 calories, we’ll multiply 4.18 by 148. This gives us 618.64 joules. So there are 618.64 joules in 148 calories.

Calories is often taken to mean Kcals so it is best to specify. You conversion ration though is right for cals to joules. Kcals are what is used on food packaging. 1 Kcal = 4180 joules.
