Doesn't Cooking Chicken Get Rid Of Salmonella?

Yes, cooking kills salmonella, as well as any other germs and bacteria. The high heat kills them off. Bacteria thrive in high heat, but after a certain point it begins to kill them. I'm not sure how fast though...I doubt that just plungeing your chicken into a vat for boiling water for a minute or two will do the job (although if you intend to actually cook it there, for a while, it should work fine...although boiled chicken doesn't sound too appealing)...but it it's cooked properly, you shouldn't have to worry.
