Apart from all the health problems associated with eating too much junk food, we must never forget that it was the inspiration for this hit parade number from 1947.

Clearly, this was recorded before political correctness would have caused everybody to recoil with horror.

Oh my heart just leaped with joy, hearing that old old song...I did not hear it until maybe 1950 or '51, used to listen to it all the time...

Elizabeth answered that very well (though we may differ somewhat when it comes to fats) - it just ain't good for you. And when you're eating foods that your body really likes then junk food doesn't even taste good any more! If you want to explore it further there's an excellent guide here that explains the problem and gives a very tasty solution :)

Junk foods are not good for the body. You see there's little nutrients that we can get in this food but it’s hard to avoid because food companies have mastered the perfect taste sensation, largely a blend of salt, sugar and fat, to keep you coming back for more.

Disadvantages such as: Weight Gain, Chronic Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, Nutritional Deficiencies, but I am not saying here that it is too bad. One just need to be responsible enough and moderate the intake of this foods. Have a healthy living everyone =)

It is addictive, it has no nutrients in it and you get alot of vitamin and mineral  defficienties . Over time,  you put on body fat; it gives you a spike in blood sugar and a crash;  it does not fuel the body properly and contains alot of calories; you can, over time, put on alot of weight.

It has a lot of additives, chemicals and MSGs;  and the meat and chicken is reformed and isn't very nice to eat and doesnt give you enough good protein; Very high in saturated fats that is bad for the body and heart.  Fast release carbohydrate that doesnt sustain energy for the body.  Usually fried in oil  or fats (some of which is palm oil)

Alright in moderation and occasional treat.

There are various disadvantages of eating junk food, as described below:

Weight Gain

Eating excessive amount of junk food can lead to an increased weight gain. Being overweight can be detrimental to your health and can impact your energy levels. This means that you will have less energy to do tasks which you may find easier if you were a healthy weight.

Being overweight can also lead to medical conditions such as diabetes.

Tooth Problems

Many junk foods contain a high amount of sugar which can affect your teeth. You may find that junk food can cause tooth decay and tooth ache. It is important to have a balanced diet and ensure to brush twice daily to maintain your teeth effectively.

Stroke

It may sound far fetched but there have been studies to indicate that eating too much junk food puts more people at risk of medical conditions such as having a stroke. This is due the fact that many junk foods contain a high level of fat and as you gain weight or if you become obese this can put you at higher risk of having a stroke. It is always important therefore to have a balanced healthy diet.

Skin Problems

If you have heard the saying 'you are what you eat' then you may find that junk food can have a direct impact on the way you look. In particularly junk food can affect your skin and you may be more likely to have problems such as acne or oily skin. The key is to eat healthily which will leave a refreshing impact on your skin and leave you looking healthy and radiant.

I hope this helps to answer your question :)

Junk food might not be the healthiest choice one could be making, but it sure is tasty, affordable and easily reachable. Nevertheless, there are a lot more disadvantages and arguments that go against eating it, with special emphasis on the health factor. As long as one is strong enough to find and use some sort of balance when it comes to eating junk food every now and then, on the rarest of occasions, the negative effects of this type of food can be significantly diminished.

Hi
there! I can only see one advantage with eating junk food and it’s the taste!
Everything else is bad! The main disadvantages include: 1) you never know
what’s really in there, 2) use of harmful flavourings and colourings, 3) high
fat content, 4) high salt content and 5) hygiene during the preparation
process. The best thing to do is to stick to home-cooked food!
