What kind of peanut butter do you prefer? Is one really so different than the other?

I found that the generic brands just don't have the peanutty taste that the major brands do. It may be just my imagination but I usually prefer Jif or Peter Pan.

I've always been a Jif fan. I like the crunchy or the smooth. I think it's the best ! Yes, some taste way better than others !

Well of course they are both the same ingredient wise, but peanut butter has always been about texture and taste for me.

When I was a child, my dad always ate the creamy style and it was probably 50 years later before it actually dawned on me that "crunchy style"  contained chunks of peanuts.

By analogy, I like both mashed potatoes and baked potatoes---but I don't like them mixed together.

So if I want peanuts, I eat the whole nuts.  If I want peanut butter, I eat the creamy style.

Yes. They have a unique taste, they're good, but I do not seek them out.

It's sort of like I know that everything I eat at a meal winds up in my stomach, but you will never find me putting my steak, baked potato, and sauteed mushrooms in a blender and drinking it just because the (end) result is the same.

"De Gustibus non es disputandum"---one should not argue about taste.

LOL, true, I have a niece that will not eat anything that touched together on her plate. I once wondered how she ate spaghetti and meatballs LOL

Yes.

I hate to admit it but as a (very) young kid, I remember mixing a hamburger patty, mashed potatoes, and ketchup together on my plate and then eating it.

That may or may not have been a issue of multiple personalities, but if it were, I guarantee that person went away a long, long time ago.

We do Skippy All Natural creamy in my house. Since my dogs get it from time to time I want to make sure it doesnt' have anything it that can hurt them. There has been a warning circulating that some peanut butter companies are putting xylitol in as a sweetner and it is extremely toxic to dogs.
