They can keep it underground

If a water well was available they would lower containers of milk and food down near the cool water it could be 50 degrees added shelf life to their food.

Hmmm various ways like putting each day ice around a big cupboard  each day and among the ice  the food, digging them underground, putting them in a special vase e.t.c.
