The island nation of Jamaica is known for great seafood dishes. One of the dishes they are known for is a Jamaican Salt Head Fish, and there are a number of different ways to prepare this seafood dish. The fish is not native to the island but is imported and prepared in true Jamaican fashion.

Salt head fish can be grilled, boiled, or fried. Jamaican tradition is to grill the fish on a portable grill right on the beach where you can enjoy all of the sights and sounds this beautiful island paradise has to offer. Add in some in some salt, pepper, and a few special cooking herbs and seasoning and you'll have a great meal with one of the best views in the world.

There are several side dishes that go perfectly with fish. You can choose rice and peas, or rice and beans is excellent choice. Red Peas soup is the perfect dish to start a tropical meal and okra and spinners go perfectly with almost any kind of seafood dish.

After the perfect meal on the beach, you'll probably be hungry for dessert or a drink to wash down your meal. Jamaica is famous world over for the best rum and there are several varieties that you can enjoy that will have you feeling tropical no matter where you consume it. A nice glass of wine is always great for washing down a meal. Dessert in the tropics can consist of several different bread and pastries. Coco bread and bulla cakes are known island favorites and hard dough bread is also well known island favorite any time of year.

If you're planning a trip to this tropical island or just want to get in a Jamaica state of mind, prepare a delicious fish dinner and finish it off with a delicious Jamaican bottle of rum.

We will never know if it's real or not but one thing for sure,Jamaican saltfish does NOT look like that. I am a Antiguan, been to Jamaica dozens of time n have friends there. If that saltfish is real though, it's from somewhere else and... Thats pretty weird eye opener but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop eating saltfish :)

Firstly this is not a fish, this is an experiment between human and fish DNA.  I have you know that salt fish is cod preserved in salt so in other words it is cod plain cod.

Cod fish head don't look any different to any other fish so the legendary 'ugly' fish can't be a cod! Simple.

Depends on what fish is being salted, there is no such type of fish called salt fish.
It is just a method of drying fish or curing fish (smoked fish is also an example of curd fish).
