Another great oolong variety and, perhaps, the most valuable  is Dahongpao", considered the greatest of Chinese teas". It is produced in Wuyishan City of the  Fujian Province.  There are only 6 trees remaining that produce this tea and are about 350 years old. Less than 1 kg of "Dahongpao" quality tea is produced each year. This tea can fetch between 1000.00 and 2000.oo US Dollars per gram at auction.

Brazilian Yerba Mate is a very good and also very rare.

Yerba Mate may be tough to find, but not really what is considered rare. The rarest tea I know of is white tea, it is made from only the youngest buds of the tea tree, and therefore only harvested for a short period every year. Red tea from Africa is difficult to find, but I don't know it's rarity as it grows wild in the brush. Tea though is a matter of taste, I like all different types of teas. Shoumei White tea is also a rare tea. Considered by many experts to be the finest tea in earth. It comes primarily from the Sujian Provence in china. It is also very expensive. It varies in cost from $5 per once and then plus some. Also Organic Gunpowder tea is said to be especially rare.
