I have experienced rhinitis for years. If I can remember, I take a Chlor-Trimitron 4mg a half hour before eating. Works great.. You can get a generic (Equate Brand) at Wal-Mart called Chlortabs for $4/100 4mg tablets. Hope this helps.

Normally when you take in food, you get salivation and that is because of signals from the mouth and brain. This is because of the Autonomic Nerves which also supplies the mucous membranes of the nose. So it causes nasal secretions.

It's a fairly common phenomenon called (non-allergic) gustatory rhinitis... Rhinitis means that the nose runs, and gustatory means it happens during eating or drinking. They say all foods can cause it. It's here in this article:

Hope this helps!
