The only lemonade that can be purchased with no high fructose corn syrup is made with completely organic materials and is much more expensive for this reason.

Pomegranate lemonade is a blend of juices made from pure and organic fruits. This claim is certified by the Florida Quality Certification Services, QCS, so the nutritional value of the beverage is completely validated and reliable.

  • Pomegranate Lemonade.

The 'Lakewood' branded product advertises the fact that the drink is made from fresh pressed lemons; contains no evaporated cane juice; has low glycemic value and contains no high fructose corn syrup. With absolutely no artificial ingredients, pomegranate lemonade is often used on cleansing diets as it is good for the digestive system and the skin.

Alternatively, pomegranate lemonade can be produced at home, therefore ensuring that is does not contain high fructose corn syrup. This is done by simply combining sugar, fresh lemon juice, pomegranate juice, water and ice.

  • High fructose corn syrup.

Corn syrup is a food product made from maize starch and contains various levels of glucose. When added to food mixtures it usually softens the but when used in beverages, will enhance the flavor instead. However, when used in mass production, corn syrup goes through a complicated enzymatic process to make the solution even sweeter.

It is now used in seemingly innocent food products such as bread, yogurt and soup making it unnecessarily unhealthy. There are many adverse health effects associated with consumption of excessive amounts of high fructose corn syrup, and these have gained a large amount of media attention in recent years. Correlations have been found with these artificially sugary foods and obesity, heart disease and diabetes. These medical problems are becoming ridiculously out of control across the globe and are partly due to individuals' ignorance of what they are actually consuming.
