Soup kitchens can be found catering to the poor and needy all over the world, and many also offer a variety of other support services to their patrons. You are lucky, don't you have soup kitchens in your country? Maybe they don't have so many needy people over there. Here in US the soup kitchens are run by church groups in the church kitchen/pantry and they are subsidized by the government (with tax payers' money). They provide once a day hot healthy and balanced meal to anyone needy (poor, destitute or unemployed) in their grounds..
