A feast for me would come after a famine/a fast.or as the bible shows it the return of someone who was lost.as the son who squandered his inheritance and was eating after the pigs/swine.because he did not believe his father would accept him back into the family.read the story in the bible and you will find out the end and what it means to everyone on the planet.

A Meal Tends To Have Less Calories And Have Two Or Three Ingredients.. Like Chicken Mashed  Tatoes And Tossed Salad.    A Feast Would Have 3 Kinds Of Meat.. Four Types Of Salads.. And Like Pies  2 Veggies And Types Of Cake For Dessert. They Would Served Chilled Wine. Fancy Meats Like Prime Rib  Or Steak Tartar. And Desserts Like Creme Brule Or Baked Alaska.. Salads Like Pineapple Salad  Or  Waldorf Salad.. It's For Groups Of People Like At Weddings Or Graduations.. Or Family Reunions . It's Also Known AS " My Diet Starts Next Month"  Lots Of People Are Allergic To Stuff; Or Are Trying To Lose Weight Or Are Diabetic.. So Caterers Have To Have  Some Type Of  Beef  Some Type Of Poultry  And Low Salt Low Calorie Stuff

A meal is much less elaborate.
A feast is more well-prepared and gratifying.

A meal would be like breakfast, bacon, eggs, toast
or lunch, soup & salad
or dinner, a meat with 2 veggies
A feast would be what we prepare at Thanksgiving, the turkey & dressing and 7 or 8 veggie dishes and cakes and pies for dessert.

A feast is a HUGE throw-down. A meal is something much smaller and is consumed by a very small group of people.

It depends on the situation at the time.
Most feasts are to celebrate an happy occasion,
though that are places where feasts given in the
honor of the newly dead.  Occasions like
rehearsal dinners,   the celebration of an engagement
announcement, birthday,  a promotion, retirement...
Happy occasions.
A meal can be anything from grabbing a quick
a tuna fish sandwich the usual Sunday dinner.
By the same token, a tuna fish sandwich can
seem like a feast for someone whose not sure where
their next bit of food is coming from.

A meal is something you have daily: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You eat meals all the time, no big deal.
But a feast is something special prepared for a family gathering or special event, like Thanksgiving. I think part of the reason why we eat so much food during Thanksgiving is because we're thankful for it.
Plus, feasts usually have a lot more variety. A meal usually consists of a meat, one or two veggies, and sometimes a fruit.
A meal can be very different compared to a feast. Feasts usually have people walking away feeling like they're going to explode from all the food.   :)

I consider a meal,  a meat, possibly a salad and 2 vegetables.  A feast might consist of several meat choices, numerous vegetable choices, many salads and several dessert choices.  A meal satisfies your hunger, a feast is a treat to the eyes as well as the appetite .  A feast is generally prepared for some sort of celebration.

What if you were starved almost to death for 7-10 days and then someone handed you a sandwich and a bottle of juice. Would that be a feast. : ). Just saying it is perspective that decides what a feast would be.normally that would barely be a snack but after not eating for days then it would be a feast.

I think a feast is more of a celebration that includes a lot of food, while a meal is just food.
