Essentially, an egg poacher with four cups is the most normal variety of egg poacher. To begin with you should fill the bottom of the egg poacher pan with water. Then place each egg cup into the pan so that the bottom of the cups are in the water and the top of the cups are in the air. Crack your eggs, one into each egg cup, and then boil the water. Placing the lid on the egg poacher give the eggs two or three minutes to cook depending on how runny you want your eggs to be. Alternatively, you can decide the eggs are fully cooked when the white of the eggs are cooked but the yolk of the eggs remain runny. If you do not want to cook all four eggs at once, it is important to remember to fill up fully any of the egg cups you are not using with water. This action will prevent and damage being done to the unused egg cups during your cooking. Www.ehow.co.uk/how_7550265_egg-poacher-instructions.html
Put about a half in of water in the bottom of the pot.place the rack on top of the pot, add a dash of salt helps water boil faster. Bring water to a boil. Insert your egg cups into the rack.add your butter or oil let it melt or get hot then crack your eggs on a flat surface.this way you wont get any pieces of shell in the cups.open the eggs over the cups put on the lid an in about 3min or so your eggs will be done. Cooking time varies on how well done you like your eggs
Jomar, Thankyou for your very good answer!!!! You know, you can buy one on the internet just ask for 4 cup egg poacher.. I tried to get instructions but couldn't find any, so your answer was wonderful and now I know how to use it properly. My daughter gave this to me and I bet she didn't know how to use it either ! Geackel
My answer is the same as above with a slight variation...for those on a strict diet and the thought of melted butter makes them strike those extra calories off the allowance!!
You can also add a tablespoon of water to the cup but be warned you might end up with your egg stuck to the cup but as long as they are not runny, they are easy to pry off with the flat of your knife. Either way, enjoy your poached eggs. :)

I bought a four egg poacher from Morrisons which came without instructions. However there was a 'phone number telling me they were there to help so I rang. Unbelievable response: Where did you buy it? Take it back to the store for money back. Why? Ring the store and they will know - but the entire workforce of head office doesn't!! Will have to refer query to the technical department. In short no help whatsoever!! Thanks to the above I now know.
I purchased the Chef's stainless steel egg poacher No. 810. My jumbo eggs ran to the non-stick rubber water reservoir. I remember using a white powder to clean it but can not find my instructions.
Thanks everyone for answers. I didn't know how to use my new poacher either. Good old Google!!
Cheers for the answer. I got care instructions too and no directions. Bit silly really. :)
