Do cage-free chicken eggs look or taste better?

My neighbors have cage free chickens that roam freely and love attention.  The eggs are delicious, much better than the ones from the store.  I'm not sure how much to attribute to their more natural diet -- (They raid the garden and chase butterflies- that's fun to watch! :) -- or to the guaranteed freshness. 

I pity the chickens packed into the commercial farms.

Yes! Absolutely! I used to raise chickens....I had a coop for them to roost in at night, but in the morning, I would let them out to roam all day long and I'd close them up at night to keep the predators away!
