Positive....a good cup of coffee is relaxing, tastes good, warms you up, wakes you up....negative....well, I can't think of any unless you get a hold of a bad cup!

In some people, caffeine can cause sleeplessness and irritability or make it difficult to concentrate. Still, there are a few cautions that a coffee drinker may wish to note. The Times of London cited this finding from a Dutch report: “Coffee in which the boiling water and grounds are mixed directly can increase cholesterol levels by 10 per cent, compared with drinking filtered coffee or no coffee at all.” Cholesterol is a well-known contributor to heart disease. In another issue, The Times once quoted a leading British nutritionist as saying: ‘Regular coffee drinkers should always have a fresh cup and avoid a stewed or boiled brew.’

If the experts agree on anything when it comes to coffee, it is moderation. Doctors generally recommend that people should drink no more than six cups (or four mugs) of coffee in a day. Those with such health problems as heart or kidney disease or high blood pressure should have less than that. And pregnant women or those who breast-feed their babies should have no more than one cup a day.

I think I may be the only one who can drink coffee (which I don'tdrink coffee  but I wish maybe I did)  but it puts me right to sleep.

When I taught school, the parents that did not want to put their ADD children on medication would give them a cup of coffee (doctors suggestion) in the morning and it calmed them right down .

In France, I saw many children drink a huge cup of half coffee and half milk in the morning sweetened with sugar. I like it that way too.  It's called "cafe au lait" as I am sure many have heard of.

Though I don't drink coffee I have been told I make the best coffee. 😎

Of course, the positive of drinking coffee, we can have energy after  drinking it in the morning before going to work and it 's healthy too, if we don't drink it more than 4 cups per day.

The negative of it, there are some people who can't sleep after drinking it, so it's better avoiding to drink it in the late afternoon about at 4 pm, as it can make us so excited and with energy. Me too, I only drink it 2 time per day, in the morning and after lunch, as I avoid having the problem of insomnia.

1 - 2 cups of coffee per day is good for cancer due to its antioxidants. Anything in excess can lead to caffeine dependency. Caffeine is a fake source of energy. Nothing beats having a complete 7 hour sleep. Dependency to caffeine can lead to cardiovascular problems.

Well, it has good and bad effects depending on your body state. Some people can have 6 cups of coffee and feel fine but some have to switch to decaf or herbal tea.

Drinking coffee on an empty stomach, such as first thing in the morning, stimulates hydrochloric acid production. This can be a problem because HCl should only be produced to digest meals.
