My mom would break up thin pretzels, put them in a large drinking glass, fill it with milk, add a couple teaspoons of sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. She'd give me a spoon and a straw and I would go to town on it. It was the BEST!!!!!

I had it a couple of weeks ago when I babysat my 7 year old niece. When I told her about it, she said "eww, gross". I made a glass for me and one for her and she LOVED it.

My mom used to make these tiny round doughnuts, in the shape of a tiny ball, which were popular in French Canada in New Brunswick and also in Maine (and I think everywhere actually).

She made a thick batter and then dropped them by teaspoons into hot oil and then took them out and covered with sugar or confectioners sugar. They were warm and tasty.

I can't find the recipe anywhere -does anyone know how to make these little tiny fried doughnuts?

Cake doughnuts -she made a batter from flour , eggs, sugar and i think a few more things and maybe a bit of milk? It was thick batter and scooped by a teaspoon and then with her finger she slid it of the teaspoon into the hot oil. She made a lot and as they got done she took them out and dusted them with sugar. I think she out hem in something to absorb the oil-maybe newspaper. It was so long ago.

That's exactly how my mom made them! Yeah, she put them on a paper towel for a bit. I forgot to write that in the recipe I sent you.

As cliched as it is, it was probably a hamburger and fries. Not talking fast food places, really, but there were some great burger places around where I grew up and going there was always a super treat for me.

My grandma's homemade vegetable beef soup (with plenty of cabbage).  I still make it when I have the time.
