My opinion on rice will NOT be swayed @Ed:) ... I still would rather one or two of something wonderful , than 2000 of nothing special
..... And I still hate the rice even though the "H" word is a bit of an extreme emotion to feel towards a grain... I hates it ... Cos I said so.  I do like the rice question though , also cos I said so ;)

Were you perhaps forced to eat rice one too many times as a child?

That would be my mother's rice pudding.

She was probably the world's worst cook and yet I've never tasted another rice dish equal to that one. I haven't had it for about 65 years but, looking back, I can still taste it on my tongue. Thanks for te memory.

Jaimie will be pleased with you for picking up on her request! :)

I usually like some kind of dirty rice or spanish rice. Put some fried chicken with that and, mmmmmm, delicious!!

Rice Krispie Treats count, right? No, I'd have to say it's tamago gohan or sushi. Tamago gohan is just white rice or sushi rice with a raw egg on it, stirred in. I prefer it with soy sauce and sesame seeds. Weird description but I assure you it's good! A portioned recipe was given to me by an old Japanese man while riding the subway in D.C. And it's been a favorite since.

Rice and tomatoes.

Basmati rice, Hunts or Del Monte tomatoes canned and diced, additional tomato juice, a little butter, some brown sugar and salt---all to taste.

Mom fixed it for me as a child---still make it occasionally.
