I live on a busy road so we don’t have kids come by, so I leave the light off.

It's not even an option for me. I live in a small gated condo complex, so nobody comes to my door. I used to rather enjoy handing out treats and seeing the costumes years ago.

Our community holds parties for neighborhood kids at Halloween. Costumes and all.
We are the ones taking the kids out. Lol! 😆
My grandkids are the only trick or treaters we get up here.
Not really a neighborhood with many young kids here, but back home, my parents always handed out candy and I would sometimes hand it out too when I was older.
