Deficiency of vitamin D leads to rickets, a disease of bone deformity and is characterized by weaker bones. Bleeding gums is a feature of Scurvy due to vitamin C deficiency. Pernicious anemia occurs in Vitamin B12 deficiency, it is a condition which leads to excessive blood loss even due to minor injuries. Also, Anemia is essentially defined as a qualitative and quantitative deficiency of hemoglobin in the blood which causes hypoxia and restrains the ability of the blood to carry Oxygen to various parts of the body. It can also be caused by lack of iron in the blood. Vitamin A, D, E and K deficiency also leads to steatorrhoea which involves passage of greasy or fatty stools. Vitamin A deficiency causes night blindness.
A lack of vitamin C can cause tiredness, weakness, sore muscles and even bleeding gums. A lack of vitamin D can cause weak or even deformed bones. A lack of vitamin A can cause night blindness.
