Bring the water to a boil. Put some salt in it. Then dump the broccoli in. When the water comes back up to a boil. Then get the broccoli out and put it in a bowl with ice and water. This will stop the cooking and you will have great tasting crisp broccoli.
2 minutes before plunging into ice cold water to stop the cooking.
Bring water to boil and place item in. Boil until broccoli is a nice bright green and tender to touch.
