If you don't want to put people off with your offensive breath, there are a number of foods that you can eat to help you beat the smell:
- Herbs- Are well-known for their aromatic properties, but chewing on coriander, parsley, mint or eucalyptus can also help you fight bad breath. If you don't fancy chewing on the leaves (they can easily get caught between your teeth), you can try making a tea out of them instead.
- Yogurt- Pro-biotic yogurt seems to be all the rage these days, and it can also help with bad breath too. The 'active ingredients' in yogurt can kill off bacteria in your mouth, and help reduce the amount of smelly hydrogen sulfide wafting around your oral cavity.
- Crunchy vegetables/fruit- Are rich in fiber, which can help keep your mouth's saliva at healthy levels (reducing bad smells). Fiber also helps break down fats and proteins that can get stuck between your teeth (gross).
- Vitamin C- Bacteria hate vitamin C, so eating fruits that are high in this vitamin will ward them off. Vitamin C also helps protect your gums from gingivitis (gum disease).
