Sherry is just a fortified wine, originating from the region of Andalucia in southern Spain.
It is made from two varieties of grape, and is fortified later on with brandy. It must also be matured, and blended with younger wines to achieve the desired strength, colour and sweetness. By the end the sherry is between 15% and 21% alcohol by volume.
