Paw paw is an edible berry fruit and also known as paw-paw and papaw. It is assumed that the name came from papaya due to a superficial similarity in their pattern. It weighs about 20 gm (0.04 lb) to 200 gm (0.44 lb). When it is unripe, its colour is green or bottle-green. And while ripe, the colour changes to yellowish brown. It contains high protein. The taste resembles the taste of banana and mango, depending of the cultivation process.
