The best way to remove any food stuck to the bottom of a saucepan or frying pan or even the old black marks and residue is to use 'White Vinegar'. (Do not use in a non-stick Teflon pan). Pour a generous amount of white vinegar over the marks, bring to the boil and leave to cool, wipe and rinse!
