Not sure if you are a male or female but I know how much people feel self conscious to whether they are too skinny or really fat .

I am trying to gain weight as well , as I have realised how being skinny isn't a good thing and isn't all that attractive ( I’m not anorexic) now there is many definitions of perfect body, and to me I want a curvy body, sometimes my friends tell me how lucky I am to be skinny and to have small thighs and whatnot but I realised how much I envied girls with meat on they bones and curves, and silly me I haven't realised guys cared whether they were fat or too skinny , gaining weight may be hard for some people with fast metabolism, but especially annoying for people with slow metabolism .

People often expect that eating heaps of junk foods will make you gain weight fast, that is SO not true, it actually creates more fat and carbs in your body rarely make you gain weight but even worse it may clog your arteries and cause more chance of diabetes.

If you eat lots of sugary , salty foods , truthlly you can definitely gain weight from that but that’s the bad way to gain weight . Whats great is you can gain weight healthily , you can do this by increasing your
calorie intake by increasing nutrients and calorie rich foods in the diet. You need to supply your body with all the essential nutrients it needs for muscle growth and maintenance.

Increase your daily food  intake of high-protein foods, healthy fats and slow releasing complex carbohydrates.

Steer away from heavily processed junk foods that contain 'empty calories' and are high in hydrogenated oils and sugar.
And most of all eat plenty of fruit and vege and drink lots of water . Good luck on gaining weight healthily :D

The healthiest way to gain weight is to eat lots of complex carbohydrates, such as pasta, rice, baked potatoes, oatmeal/porridge etc.

These foods are naturally high in calories, but it's healthy calories, as all these foods are highly nutritious and will provide you with a decent level of fuel for the day, due to the fact they mostly contain complex carbohydrates - not simple carbohydrates like sugary drinks and snacks!

The best way of gaining weight is this - record the amount of calories you are currently eating (you will find calorific information on just about any packaged food these days), then aim to increase your calorific intake by 200 calories a day. Weigh yourself after one week (make sure you are consistent with your weighing by doing it under exactly the same conditions every time, and the same time of day), and if you have put on about 2 pounds of weight, that's the perfect amount of weight gain. If you haven't gained anything, increase your daily calorific intake by a further 200 calories, and then again weigh yourself after another week. Repeat this cycle every week, always aiming for around 2 pounds of weight gain a week, until you are at your target weight.

It's as simple as that - it just a case of trying to make sure that every day, you consume 200 calories a day more than you burn off. That's all you've got to do! Simple!
