Chemical food grade preservatives for beverages include Sodium benzoate. Natural Choice manufactures all natural shelf extenders, made in the USA. These are the healthy alternative and good for home bottleing too.
I'm trying to make bottled smoothies to sell at our local grocery store. I have all the licenses and permits. Now, the question is, does anyone know the preservatives to keep the smoothie bottles from spoiling, so that it can last for about 2 weeks?
I'm sure that a food chemist would have to determine that. You can't just dump something in the mixture.
