I like some recipes but unfortunately i can't eat much of Indian foods because they eat so spicy and too much spice is a huge damage to me.

The cooking smell is TERRIBLE and I seriously dislike Curry (a main spice) and I can't eat food that has a putrid smell. The Indian food I've seen in person is unappealing.

Oh dear Jan - that is almost as sad Barb not liking chocolate. There is so much variety in Indian cuisine, that there is something for everyone.

So I thought I wouldn't like it.

I thought me and curry might never be friends . . .

My son (Who loves to cook from scratch very complex recipes) spent hours in our kitchen creating Chicken Tikka Masala one evening with a cucumber and vinaigrette salad. It was incredibly delicious.

So many spices set together as a great orchestra of taste.

I guess good Indian food is not bad. I await his next meal.

Anywhere in the world where you have Indian workers you will have Chicken Biryani. I've eaten it in Dubai, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, England and India. It appears to be the "standard" Indian meal, like Fish 'n Chips used to be for the British.

I really like some of it.  There are a lot of choices.

I've had it quite a few times and really enjoyed it. Not all of it has curry in it. About the best vegetables I've ever eaten. Different yes but really good if done right.

Unfortunately, my first experience with Indian food was with a curry chicken dish cooked by a friend.  He came over to the house to cook it for us.  He was 2 hours late getting there.

During the cooking process, nothing he did suggested that he knew what he was doing.

The final product contained more curry powder than chicken.

That was almost 50 years ago.

I have never recovered from that experience.

I absolutely love it.  My favorite is butter chicken with naan bread, and raita (sauce with cucumber, yogurt, green onion, mint).  I make butter chicken in the slow cooker when I need real comfort.  There is lots of flavor, but not the heat associated with some other dishes.  There is a four-star Indian restaurant within walking distance of my house.  I'll never move.
