Everything within context, Krug, "Clos du Mesnil", the best Blanc de Blancs I ever tried, is undoubtedly the best sparkling anywhere. That delicious delicate acidity, its intriguing toastiness, all of which improves with time, (I can´t forget the 1985), makes for the most beautiful bubbly of all times. Now, if you didn´t want to spend $500 for something like that, try Veuve Clicquot "Le Ponsardin" (Yellow label), a non-vintage Champagne and, for less than $50 you will have the experience of a lifetime, as far as a fine sparkling goes. It is hard to talk about fine champagne, but to forget a great one, its almost impossible!
