It takes approximately 12 hours for fruit to digest. This is the same for most vegetables as well.

  • The process of digestion
Every person has to go through a process of digestion so we can continue to feed our bodies with the relevant nutrients and substances that it needs to maintain a healthy stature. The food that we ingest travels through the esophagus and then further into our stomachs where the relevant substances within the food such as proteins, fats, and nutrients get broken up and absorbed into the body. Our stomach cannot absorb everything so the remaining substances get passed through and are excreted from the body as waste. Certain meats can take up to three days to digest.

  • How does the body digest protein?
Protein is vital for our system because it is used to build cells as well as repair them. As I already mentioned, meat can take a while to digest, and as a lot of meat is high in protein the substance can be stored in our bodies for a while during the digestion process.

  • Fiber
With fiber, the main use of it is to help control bowel movements and is a vital component of clearing the body from toxins. However, the digestive system finds fiber quite tricky to break down and take around three to four hours to properly pass through the system.

  • Fats
A body is reliant on fats but it is important not to overload the system with fats because it can cause health problems in the long term. When fats enter the body, they provide us with energy as well as extra support for our immune systems. The majority of healthy fats are found in foods such as fish and nuts.

Technically you don't digest fruit. It stays in your stomach for a few minutes then is pushed into the intestines. But only RAW FRUIT. Not dried fruit, dates, and Bananas, they may stay about thirty minutes longer. But only thirty minutes in your stomach saves hours of energy opposed to digesting a regular meal. All that saved energy is put toward cleansing the body of waste(body fat).
