Although there are supposed to be 16 oz in a pint, whiskey is often bottled & sold in 375 ml containers. So when you ask the clerk for a pint of your favorite whiskey, you are probably getting shorted by about 100 ml. Or approximately 3 shots. It's things like this that make a person drink.
