The answer to what a mango tastes like is very subjective- what is pleasing and tasty to one person may be bitter or unpleasant to someone else. Most people however would describe the taste of a mango as a cross between orange and melon.

  • OPTIONS
Mangoes are eaten on their own or combined with other fruits. Grown on trees and mainly found in Asia and Africa, mango can easily be mistaken for an orange in appearance but does have a distinctive look and taste to differentiate it from other fruits. A mango can form part of a larger fruit salad, be eaten on its own or be squeezed to form a fruit juice that can be drank naturally or bought in bottles or cartons.

  • SOLO
Most people would describe the taste of a mango as being sweet although there can be a number of variants that effect the taste. Mangoes have a skin that can be eaten but it's generally the fruit underneath that people will eat. Depending on the climate that it has been grown in it may vary and require some conditioning before being eaten.

  • LIQUID
Like many fruits mangoes can be crushed and turned into a juice or smoothie. Combined with other food stuffs like milk, juices or fruits, it can form a fresh tasting cocktail that provides a healthy taste while packed with vitamins and nutritional benefits.

  • FISH
In the Philippines mangoes are popular with fish, providing a fruity contrast on a dish.

  • ADAPTABLE
With its fruity sweet taste mango can be found in many different types of dishes. The quality of the mango can of course vary but when it has been grown properly and conditioned it is a very adaptable addition to most dishes.

Like an orange, pineapple and peach mixed in, it tastes great as long as you don't pick a sour one.
