Only time will help sober a drunk person. The liver processes about one drink's worth of alcohol an hour, and we breathe out some alcohol as well. But the general rule is that you need to wait one hour for every drink you had, to sober up. Coffee doesn't work. It acts as a stimulant so with coffee what you get is a wide awake drunk. Sometimes you can speed up metabolism of alcohol by physical activity.
