There isn't a difference between corn and maize, however wheat does differ from these two in a variety of ways.

Wheat is a type of grass that is globally cultivated for several uses. Wikipedia states that wheat grain "is a staple food used to make flour for leavened, flat and steamed breads, biscuits, cookies, cakes, breakfast cereal, pasta, noodles, couscous and for fermentation to make beer, other alcoholic beverages or bio fuel." This really shows the versatility of the grass and how vital it can be for many farmers. Wheat is also used to feed the farmer's livestock as it is cheap and easy to re-grow.

Corn and maize are the same thing and so both are a type of grain that again is grown around the world for various purposes. Maize or corn is grown to feed livestock as well as being a staple diet for many individuals in poorer countries, especially in Africa and South America. Corn or maize has also become amenable to being genetically modified in recent years. Controversially, corn and maize have also been used in bio fuel. Maize and corn are said to be the most widely grown crop in the Americas as it is relatively easy to grow and farm.

Maize is harvested at maturity, when its kernels are dry and
can be stored or used as grain. Sweet corn is maize that's high in
sugar. It's harvested before maturity and therefore doesn't handle
storage well. It must be eaten immediately, as a vegetable. Or it must
be processed for canning or freezing, before the kernels become
inedibly starchy and tough.
Corn in the English language means "the common grain" so if
you asked a Scottish farmer 'haw the corn growing?' his answer would
refer to barley. In the US the corn is maize which is why it is a common
mistake to thing one is the other. So in answer for your question if
you are in the US then the corn is maize but anywhere else in the world
it isn't. Zaf.Mike from Kingsteignton, Devon, UK.

Wheat is a grass. It is a cereal that is cultivated all over the world. It is the second-largest crop in terms of worldwide production. Only maize ranks above it as the most cultivated cereal crop (rice is the third-largest cultivated crop in the world). Apart from being used as a crop to feed livestock and a construction material used to make thatched roofing, it is used to make flour, which is used in the preparation of bread, cakes, cookies, etc. Other uses of wheat are for fermentation in the making of alcoholic beverages such as beer, alcohol and vodka and as a biofuel.

On the other hand, maize is another name for corn. It is a cereal grain. Maize is known as corn in countries such as the United States, the English-speaking provinces of Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Corn is known for being a high-yielding variety of cereal grains.
