I used to eat it, my husband likes it with milk (yes, cows milk)!! Poured on it. I no longer eat chocolate though so haven't had any bfc for years now

If I remember correctly, Black forest cake is 3 layers of devils food cake with whip cream filling, cherries and chocolate chunks.
 
 
 My SIL makes them all the time.
 
 She just uses cake mix from the store. Then fills the layers with cool whip, those marachino or fruit cake cherries and big chocolate chips. She covers the whole cake with Cool Whip and chocolate shavings.

Mmmmm...black forest cake is perhaps my favorite chocolate cake.  Okay, better than sex cake may be the best, then black forest.
