Hi,
Thanks for your question! The good news is that beetroot takes only about 10 minutes to cook in the microwave, while it can take up to an hour in a conventional oven! Here are the instructions on how to cook beets in a microwave oven.
- 1. Place the beets in a microwave safe contraption, such as a bowl.
- 2. Add some table spoons of water to the bowl, perhaps 3-4 would suffice.
- 3. Cover the bowl and then allow to cook for approximately 10 minutes. This can vary depending on the type of microwave you have, so if yours does not have exceptionally high power, it may be better to err on the side of caution and give it a solid 15 minutes of cooking time. Place your microwave on a high power setting whilst cooking the beets in order to ensure they are fully cooked!
Once the beets can be easily pierced with a fork, you will know they are ready! Do not leave them to cook for any longer than 15 minutes.
Enjoy!
