How Long Do I Cook Lamb Chops In The Oven?

It is recommended in many recipes that you cook lamb chops in the oven for about 20 - 25 minutes. One recipe which shows this is the one below, but plenty of others can be found.

Ingredients: 8 lamb loin chops, 1 small onion, peeled and chopped, salt and freshly milled black pepper.

For the sauce you will need: 1 large onion peeled and chopped, 1 rounded tablespoon rosemary leaves, 25g of butter, 25g of plain flour, 175ml of milk, 175ml of vegetable stock, 2 tablespoons of cream and salt and freshly milled black pepper.

First of all, place the lamb chops in a shallow roasting tin with the onion tucked around them. Season with salt and pepper then place them on the highest shelf of the oven to bake. How long you cook them for is up to you - I personally don't mind the centres being cooked since I like the skin crispy, but if you like your lamb pink give them 30 minutes, if not, 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt the butter and sweat the onions over a very gentle heat for 5 minutes. While that's happening, bruise the rosemary leaves with a pestle and mortar to release their oil, then chop them very, very finely and add them to the onion. Then continue to cook gently, uncovered, for a further 15 minutes without letting the onions colour too much.

Next, using a wooden spoon, stir in the flour till smooth, then gradually add the milk followed by the stock, bit by bit, stirring vigorously and finishing off with a balloon whisk. Season with salt and pepper and let the sauce barely simmer for 2 minutes, then remove it from the heat, liquidise half of it and then combine that with the rest, along with the cream. Taste to check the seasoning, then pour it into a warmed serving bowl or jug and cover the surface with cling film until the chops are ready. Serve the chops with a garnish of watercress and the sauce poured over.

EASY BAKED LAMB CHOPS

2 or 3 shoulder chops
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/4 c. Brown sugar
2 or 3 slices of pineapple (canned)

Place chops in shallow pan - sprinkle with salt and brown sugar. Place pineapple slice on each chop, add pineapple juice and roast in 375 degree oven for 45 minutes. Baste occasionally.

It depends on how you want them done really, Ide say at about 350 degrees F. And for 7-10 mins. Unless you braise them first, then 7 mins max, but I do like my meat a little "Tender" Just so long as their internal temp reaches 145 degrees youre fine.

In order to cook lamb chops the ingredients required are 2 lbs. lamb steak or lamb chops, 3 tbsp. cooking oil, 6 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 onion (minced or chopped in sm. pieces) and 1 tsp. salt.

Mix in the oil, lemon juice, onion and salt. Now pour this mixture over the lamb and let it marinate for 1 to 2 hours. Bleed dry lamb and lay it 4 inches under moderate broiler heat and broil in relation to 10-12 minutes, rotating several times. Broil longer for chops or steaks fine completed.

Place three to four chops into a buttered or greased shallow (deep) baking dish,topped with carrots,tomato,red skinned potatoes and cook at four hundred degrees

I am cooking lamb chops 1" thick...broiling them..how long should they cook for to get to medium result
