Eating of pineapple does not cause abortion but it is said that if large quantities of pineapple juice (especially unripe pineapple) is taken during early pregnancy in large quantities then uterine contractions can start leading to spontaneous abortion. The quantities of pineapple juice which induce contractions also cause vomiting.
