There are many, but there are also many that are deadly. An edible mushroom from Asia may look exactly like one here in America, except the one here will destroy your liver.
 
There are many fine points in mushroom identification, including what is know as a spore print. If you take the cap of a shroom and put it on a piece of paper it will drop spores in a unique pattern as it dies. This is its fingerprint.
 
Be careful. Every year a few people make the wrong ID and pay for it.
