A mustard plaster is a medicinal preparation made from crushed mustard seeds to create a thick paste. This is then spread inside a cloth, never to the skin itself, then pressed onto the chest or abdomen.

There are better, more conventional methods to use rather than a mustard plaster, as this can cause severe irritation to eyes and breathing, actually affecting asthma and bringing on coughing and sneezing. If in doubt consult your doctor or health professional who can issue a more effective remedy.
