Fruits are basically the ripened ovaries of a flowering plant, as defined by Botany. It is the means through which a flowering plant disseminates seeds.
There are three basic types of Fruits which are as following:
- Simple Fruits: These are either dry or fleshy. They are developed by ripening of a simple or compound ovary with a single pistil. These include Wheat, pea, Elm, Carrot, beet etc.
- Aggregate Fruits: These fruits basically develop from a flower that has a number of pistils. Such as raspberry, blackberry etc.
- Multiple Fruits: Are formed through a cluster of flowers. These fruits include Pineapples, figs, mulberry etc.
