It's easy to make your own flavored honey at home!
You simply add herbs to the honey and steep for three weeks.
Here's how I make my homemade flavored honey-infusions:
Making flavored honey
Start by taking the ingredient that you want to flavor the honey with, and stir it into a jar of honey.
You'll then need a bit of patience as the flavors blend - this could take up to three weeks (good things come to those who wait!)
When it's ready, strain the honey and bottle it!

I find that flavored honey makes a great gift - people really like the personal touch. It also works well at luncheons and other functions, to add an elegant touch to your presentation.
As far as flavors go, I'd recommend being creative and adventurous.
To date, these are the combinations I've tried:
The lavender honey also makes a really delicious glaze for a roast chicken. It's making me hungry just thinking about it!

To date, these are the combinations I've tried:
- Lemon balm,
- Rosemary flowers,
- Lavender leaves and flowers,
- Cinnamon sticks (these don't require straining. Just remove the sticks and you are ready to bottle),
- Curry leaves with candied ginger,
- Chocolate mint leaves (with a few drops of vanilla extract),
- Licorice mint with hyssop,
- Peppermint.
