Keeping a banana cool, will keep it fresh longer. If you put a banana in the refrigerator, it will turn black, but the flesh will be good for about 3 or 4 days. You can take very ripe bananas, peel them, slice into circles. Lay the circles on a baking sheet and put in the freezer. After they are frozen, you can put them in a freezer bag. The banana then tastes like ice cream. You can also blend with milk to make smoothies.
Also  very ripe bananas can be used to make banana bread.
Here is a recipe by the great Paula Deen:
Paula Deen's Banana Bread
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup butter
• 4 very ripe bananas
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 eggs
• 1/2-1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix dry ingredients.
Mix butter, bananas & eggs. Mix dry ingredients into banana mix and stir in nuts.
Bake 40-45 minutes.
