Raspberry jam swirled, or brown sugar, or apples and cinnamon.
Milk and sugar sugar!!! in fact I think i will make me some now sugar...lol♥
Lots of brown sugar, with regular sugar, then some cinnamon to top it of. Then add in some peaches, orange juice, mango juice, peach juice, and some other stuff and you got yourself a tasty desert.
Personally, I like raisins, cinnamon, and sugar in my oatmeal. For those who haven't tried this particular combination, I suggest you do. Trust me, you might like it.
Good grief, all these answers sound delicious. I'm going to try them myself. But to answer the question, I heat my water (I only use the old fashioned kind - like me - never the instant). So I heat the water and I already have a pinch of salt in it and I put the butter or margarine in then too. When it boils I add the oatmeal and brown sugar togther, stir it and let it finish cooking. I often have raisins or craisins in the water while it's heating too. I was just today going to try the bananas but thought it was a little strange, tomorrow I will Tig. And I'm sure as heck going to try the peach slices. My mom put cinnamon in it, but for some reason I don't like it that much. I do put cinnamon in my coffee though, 1/2 tsp ground cinn between the paper filter and the coffee itself. Really relieves early morning congestion, and just tastes good I think. My brother mentioned the other day that it was almost habit forming. I'm so glad Tig asked this question because I'd have never thought of the all the ways we can fix our oatmeal on my own.
When I was a child, my mother used to prepare a hot porridge like American oatmeal and add fresh blackberries from our garden. And when they were in bloom, she would top the porridge with the blossoms of elderberry that had been dipped in a thin batter and seared with brown sugar and cinammon.
Milk, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Is good.
I love apples and extra cinnoman, without those two I cant stand the mush.
I like mine with butter and sugar Yum Yum and Yummy
I don't really like oatmeal but will eat it occasionally because I believe it is good for me. When I do eat it I only like it with sugar and milk. Lots of sugar so it will be easier to tolerate.
I am with Nassy on this one, Milk and sugar is all it needs in my opinion.
Milk and after the oatmeal is done put raisins I like to eat it with toasted- bread
