Well, this is a very important health related question especially for those who are very fond of chocolates. Sugars contain the same amount of calories as other carbohydrates but it does not provide any fiber, vitamins, minerals or other nutrients. It is therefore advised to eat as little added sugar as possible. The body does not need sugar and it is not superior to other foods for energy, except after prolong heavy exercise.
It is not that fattening and does no harm. It is naturally present in foods such as fruits and milk and does not need to be limited. Most people waste around 14 percent of their calories by eating extra sugars such as those foods in ready made food, sweetened drinks or home made cakes. A large glass of soda drink contains approximately 40 grams of sugar whereas a 60 gram chocolate bar contains 30 grams
Children love to eat sweets. The more sweet they eat the more susceptible they are to tooth decay. In industrialized areas, the caloric need of people have fallen, but the boy's need for nutrients never ends. If we want to maintain our nutrient intake while taking less food, it is less practical to use up calories on sugar, which provides no nutrients.
