You heard of "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away",  Bananas not only provide potassium but other benefits as well, check this out!

"The banana health
benefits far outweigh those of the apple because it has many more
vitamins and nutrients than their round counterparts. Bananas have two
times as many carbohydrates as an apple, five times as much Vitamin A
and iron and three times as much phosphorus."

They also provide energy, kind of like Nature's "energy drink" without the dramatic crash caused by caffeine.

It helps with healthy bowel movements (pooping) and prevents constipation without causing other b.m. Problems such as diarrhea.

For those people who suffer from the blues, especially with winter, bananas help because they contain tryptophan which is a chemical that causes the brain to relax and you to feel more happier.

I guess I could go on and on....there is a few sites you might want to check out, and this one.
Hope this helps!

The benefits associated with bananas change as they ripen. Bright yellow, firm textured bananas have the virtues of starchy foods and give a gentle long lasting energy rise. In riper creamy fleshed bananas most of the starch has turned into sugar, which gives quick energy in exhaustion.
Eating bananas has a lot of benefits associated with it. Some of these have been discussed below.
Bananas are a good source of potassium whether they are ripe or less ripe. Eating more potassium than the typical western diet can help prevent and regulate high blood pressure. They are also very good for energetic activity. The starch in less ripe bananas resists digestion and along with the fruit's soluble fibre, provides a gentler, longer lasting energy rise than most sweet foods. This is very good for stamina. Very ripe bananas are high in sugars. Eaten after 30 minutes of exercise, when muscle energy is exhausted, ripe bananas can improve stamina.
Less ripe bananas counter constipation; ripe, sugary bananas help to relive diarrhoea. The starch in less ripe bananas resists digestion, leading to bulkier faeces, easing constipation. Very ripe bananas are used for diarrhoea.
Ripe bananas may raise mood and help sleep. Ripe bananas supply a little quantity of vitamin B6 and vitamin C.
