The peanut is native to South America, although it is grown in many different places around the world.

It is thought that they were first grown in Argentina or Bolivia and it's here that most wild species still grow.

There are 4 major types of peanuts grown – Spanish, Runner, Virginia and Valencia.

The small Spanish type come from South Africa and Oklahoma and Texas in USA. The runner group of peanuts come from Alabama, Florida and South Carolina in USA, the runner type of peanuts come from Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee, and the Valencia group are grown in New Mexico.

Peanuts are also produced in China.

The main uses of peanuts are salted, shelled nuts, peanut butter, chocolate and snack items, and those that are roasted in the shell. They are also very common as garden bird food, and there is a variety of industrial uses for items like paint, varnish, lubricating oil, furniture polish, and insecticides.

If I were a peanut I would grow underground too, then when I was born it would be that much sweeter because I had been under ground for so long. Sometimes I go to underground raves and dance clubs but, they are not always litteraly underground so in some ways the peanut and the rave are very different, though we naturaly dont always like to admit that to ourselves. One time I ate a peanut and it was so tasty I went straight back and dove right into another peanut, boy I dont need to tell you,
