It is not carbohydrate important but the total calories, life style is more important. A non pregnant active woman require 1600-2200 calories per day and active men need 2800 calories per day. 50-60% of the calories are obtained from the carbohydrates.
Your daily carbohydrate requirement is calculated with respect to age, height and lifestyle. If you consume 2000 calories then daily carbohydrate requirement is 300  grams.

If you ARE trying to lose weight, 20 - 60 grams are recommended depending on your level of activity. However, certain types of carbohydrate have many beneficial Pythochemicals and fiber so eating some (within the allowance) is fine as long as they are not refined (processed) carbohydrates. For weight loss and health, get your carbohydrates from natural sources such as (preferably organic) fresh non-starchy vegetables and low-carb fruits such as berries.
