Turmeric rice is very easy to prepare if you have all the ingredients at hand and it has a very wonderful flavour as it has a blend of so many different spices.
The ingredients for turmeric rice is as follows:
2 cups of Basmati rice
3 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 bay leaf
4 cardamom pods
1 inch cinnamon stick
2 cloves garlic
¼ tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp salt
First wash the rice well and strain it. Put 3 tbsp oil in the saucepan and wait till the oil is hot. Then put in cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf. After stirring a little bit, put chopped garlic. When the garlic gives a beautiful light brown color put in the rice, turmeric and salt in the right measures. Stir gently for a minute. Pour in 3/4 cups of water and bring to boil. Cover tightly, and simmer for 25 minutes.
