It can safely sit out for about 4 hours! The meat creates bacteria quickly after sitting, You don't want to take a chance that bacteria can get to the point of the salmonilla or botchalism setting into the meat, and that is where it will set first, into the meat.
As soon as your food cools enough, it should be covered and put in the frig, or put into a container, covered and put into the frig. You should never leave food out for more than a couple hours.
Mayonnaise will sour in a matter of 2 hours, so, never leave it out, and especially if it's mixed with other foods. Hope this helps you out.
